Portsmouth have 5 straight games with a clean sheet against: Blackburn, Manchester City, Middlesbrough, Wigan and Charlton. (All 5 are the inconsistent bottom-feeders of the league at the moment. Wigan and Blackburn should get their acts together.) The Pompey players are aware and proud of it, but they very well know that Bolton is a tough team to
crack.
Sam Allardyce has been involved in the Panorama controversy this week with his son and their dealings with the illegal payments. One would think it'd cause a rift amongst the team and their gaffer, but they have become more united than before. Bolton's Kevin Nolan has challenged his squad to give a positive result for the gaffer after all he's been through. They held a team meeting on Saturday and completely support him and his efforts.
Portsmouth is in fine form but I think their true test will come tomorrow when they face a team that is capable of cracking the top 8 in the league. However, despite the energy boost that the Bolton players are portraying, I still don't trust their away form. Losing to Charlton 2-0 is not the way to go about business. The juice is high for them in most places which is not the risk one needs to take against a very good Pompey team brimming with confidence.
The verdict: Under 2 goals +110 at Bet Cris. Portsmouth and Bolton are both very physical teams and there will be tons of tackling on the pitch tomorrow night. Portsmouth will be aiming for that clean sheet result while Bolton will try as hard as possible not to concede anything, while trying to push forward against a stingy Pompey defense. This game can go very well 0-0 or decided by 1 goal. The only fear I have is of an early goal by Pompey/Bolton that could open the game up. But, value is on this number and 2.5 starts becoming too much juice.
Record-wise, I've been up and down in football, but I believe providing write-ups is much more informative and beneficial than pasting plays in a record tracker thread. I'm going to resort to making write-ups on my plays if they're considered helpful. I will be playing this total for 2.2 units and I wish you guys good luck on whatever you play.
